Tammy was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is the youngest of fifteen children. She was born to the late Edna Robinson-West and John Charles West in 1966. She was educated in the Philadelphia school system. She graduated from Pierce College with a degree in Business Management. She has worked in healthcare her whole adult life. Tammy also taught Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology for seven years.
Tammy always found writing to be therapeutic. She was known to keep a diary or journal growing up. Tammy was born with the gift of gab. Her mother, the family's matriarch, always encourages her gift for storytelling. Her father passed away in 1974 when she was eight years old from complications due to diabetes. Her mother passed away in 2007 from pancreatic cancer when she was forty- four. She spent her last months at Tammy's house in hospice care.
Tammy met and married the love of her life, Eric White, in 1988. They have one daughter from their union, Ashley, who makes her pound every day.
This is Tammy’s first time writing a novel based on the stories her mother would share with her and her siblings regarding the family’s generations.
